Analysis of Inter-language Syllabification of English by Pakistani Hindko- English Speakers

Hindko is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the Hazara and Azad Kashmir regions. The current research aims to analyze interlanguage syllabification of English by Pakistani-Hindko speakers under optimality theory (Prince & Smolensky, 1993). study argues that syllabify syllables influenced L1. uses elicitation method collect data. was analyzed framework. analyses markedness alignment constraints predict stop clusters at word medial position speakers. finds Hindko-English can be correctly predicted through parsing phonological processes like epenthesis ambisyllabicity.
